Clearbit was one of the first API-first data enrichment platforms. It built a strong reputation for deep company data, website visitor identification, and dynamic form shortening. Then HubSpot acquired it in late 2023, and things changed.
Today, Clearbit is fully integrated into HubSpot. There is no standalone product, no public pricing page, and no way to sign up without being a HubSpot customer. If you are already running HubSpot CRM, the enrichment is baked in and works well. You get automatic contact and company enrichment, form shortening that reduces fields by pre-filling known data, and website visitor identification (called Breeze Intelligence) that reveals anonymous traffic.
But if you use Salesforce, Pipedrive, or a custom CRM, Clearbit is effectively unavailable to you. I tried to get pricing through their sales team and was told it depends entirely on your HubSpot tier and contract. Several teams I have spoken with report that Breeze Intelligence credits start at $30 per 100 credits for monthly data enrichment, which adds up quickly at scale.
The core issue is platform lock-in. You cannot use Clearbit's data without committing to HubSpot's ecosystem. For teams that need enrichment as a standalone API layer, this is a dealbreaker.
